Coal India Signs MoU with RVUNL to Develop 1,190 MW Solar Project In Bikaner

Coal India Ltd. (CIL) will be developing a solar project of 1,190 MW capacity in Bikaner, Rajasthan. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for this project has been signed on 13th October 2022 between CIL and Rajasthan Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. (RVUNL).

CIL’s solar plant will be developed in RVUNL’s solar park of 2,000 MW capacity, for which the Rajasthan government has allotted 4,846 hectares of land. The remaining 810 MW solar power capacity will be developed independently by RVUNL.

Coal India has estimated Rs. 8,000 Cr as the cost for this 1,190 MW Solar project. CIL aims to start the project in 24 months, and it will be implemented in phases.
