CapitaLand India Trust to Invest 1,940 Cr. in Chennai Data Centre

CapitaLand India Trust (CLINT) will be investing Rs. 1,940 crore (about USD 328.8 million) to set up a 55 MW data centre in Chennai.

Trustee-manager of CLINT, CapitaLand India Trust Management Pte, is in the process of acquiring a 4.01 acre land parcel in Ambattur, Chennai for a sum of Rs. 83.28 crore. This upcoming data centre will be catering to corporate clients, cloud service providers and major tech companies.

Mr. Surajit Chatterjee, Managing Director, Data Centre, India, CLI explained that the Chennai data centre site is strategically located close to sea cable landing stations and has reliable power supply. He added that once fully developed, CLINT’s Chennai data centre will have the capacity to host about 4,900 racks.

Work on the data centre is expected to be complete by the end of 2025.
