BHEL Secures Rs. 300 Cr. Order at Ukai Thermal Power Station
Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) stated in its press release dated 19th January 2023 that it has secured an order for Renovation and Modernisation (R&M) works at Utkai Thermal Power Station (TPS) in Gujarat. This order has been valued at about Rs. 300 crore and has been awarded to BHEL by Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL).
Scope of work in BHEL’s order entails R&M works for Unit-3 and Unit-5 turbine sets of the Utkai TPS, for which BHEL is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Unit-3 has the capacity to generate 200 MW of power, while Unit-5 of the TPS can generate 210 MW of power. As per the contract, BHEL will be performing design, engineering and manufacturing work for these turbine sets. The subsequent supply of the new turbine components and dismantling of obsolete turbine components, their erection, testing and subsequent commissioning along with associated auxiliaries will be undertaken by BHEL.
Equipment for this order will be supplied from BHEL’s manufacturing facilities at Trichy, Haridwar, Bhopal and Bengaluru, while the on-site execution will be undertaken by the company’s Power Sector – Western Region, Nagpur.
