Bajaj Auto to Set-Up ₹ 300 Cr Electric Vehicle Plant in Maharashtra
Bajaj Auto has announced the setting up of a dedicated two-wheeler electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing plant at Akurdi, Pune, Maharashtra with an investment of ₹ 300 Cr.
With an area of more than 5,00,000 sq ft, the plant in Pune will have robotic and automated manufacturing systems for logistics and material handling, fabrication and painting, assembly and quality assurance. The plant will employ around 800 personnel.
The plant will have a production capacity of 5,00,000 units of two-wheeler EVs per annum. Bajaj Auto expects to start operations at this Pune plant from June 2022.
