Amazon to Setup Data Centres worth Rs. 20,761 Cr. in Hyderabad

Amazon Web Services, a direct subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc., will be setting up data centres in three distinct locations in Hyderabad. These will be called Availabilty Zones or AZ’s and the three combined will be called AWS Asia Pacific (Hyderabad) Region. Globally, AWS has 77 AZs across 24 AWS regions.

This would entail an estimated cost of INR 20,761 Cr. which is the largest FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) in Telangana since the state’s formation in 2014. The project is expected to be operational by 2022.
