AM Green Signs Green Ammonia Supply Agreement with Norway’s Yara Clean Ammonia

AM Green, part of the Greenko Group, has signed an agreement with Norway’s Yara Clean Ammonia for supplying Green Ammonia to the latter. As per Yara Clean Ammonia’s press release dated 13th May 2024, AM Green will supply Green Ammonia from phase 1 of its under-construction Ammonia production plant in Kakinada, India.

Phase 1 of AM Green’s plant will have a production capacity of about 1 Million Metric Tonnes Per Annum (MMTPA) and is expected to start production and supply by 2027. AM Green will supply 50% of the produced Ammonia from Phase 1 of its project, that is 500 Thousand Tonne Per Annum, to Yara Clean Ammonia. Commenting on this development, Mr. Hans Olav Raen, CEO of Yara Clean Ammonia said that the company will supply this “…low-emission ammonia to established and emerging markets like fertilizer production, cracking of clean ammonia to hydrogen, shipping fuel, power generation, and other industrial applications”.

AM Green is constructing the Kakinada Green Ammonia plant in two phases, with plans to increase production capacity to 5 MMTPA by 2030.
