ABB Launches New Series of High-Output Motors in India

ABB India Ltd., the manufacturer of electrical equipment and engineering services provider, has added new series of high output motors-M3BP. The output power in this series ranges from 75KW to 560KW. The M3BP motors are manufactured at ABB’s Bangalore and Faridabad factories.

ABB’s M3BP motors have frame size ranging 280-355 (height in mm from shaft to base of the motor mounting) which enables installation in compact spaces. It has an IP rating of 55 which makes it suitable for use in rugged industrial conditions.

The company in its statement said that with this new range ABB will be targeting customers from metals, cement, pulp & paper segment as well as applications in water & wastewater purification units, crushers and cranes etc.

Expressing his views on the occasion Mr. Sanjeev Arora, President, ABB Motion India said “The M3BP high-output series is a win-win solution for our customers and ABB. We have worked tirelessly over the past few months to bring this offering to the Indian market”.

Technical Specification of ABB’s M3BP Motors

M3BP motor voltage range is 400V to 690V and the current drawn is 134A (for 75KW motor) to 966A (for 560KW motor). The input frequency is 50 Hz. Torque produced for lowest power motor is 481.00 N·m and highest power motor is 3586.00 N·m.

These are 3-phase single speed motors and can run in both directions. Motors can also be monitored remotely via ABB Ability smart sensors (to be bought separately). As per ABB the motors comply with Indian and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards and come with all necessary certifications.
