ABB India Doubles Gas Insulated Switchgear Capacity with Nashik Factory

ABB India, the engineering and industrial equipment manufacturer, has established a new factory in Nashik. According to ABB, this new factory will double its production capacity for Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS).
ABB to Use Renewable Electricity for GIS Manufacturing
ABB’s new Nashik facility will manufacture both primary and secondary GIS and will serve various industries including data centres, power distribution, smart cities, transport, tunnels, ports, highways, and infrastructure development. It is spread over an area of 78,000 sq. ft.
ABB’s new factory has smart manufacturing capabilities, and advanced robotics have been deployed for improving productivity and gathering real-time data. The factory will use 100% renewable electricity and materials which will minimize life-cycle environmental impacts.
New ABB PrimeGear ZX0 Gas Insulated Switchgear to be Manufactured at Nashik Facility
ABB India has also launched PrimeGear ZX0 which would be manufactured at its new Nashik facility, an eco-efficient switchgear built on SF6-free ecoGIS with Dry Air technology for applications up to 12KV. ABB claimed that PrimeGear ZX0 generates 20% less heat and reduces the product installation footprint by up to 25% compared to conventional switchgear. This switchgear will also have advanced features like remote monitoring and data gathering.
PrimeGear ZX0 will be manufactured at the ABB Nashik factory. ABB with this factory will cater to increasing domestic and export demands.
