Adani Defence and Embraer Sign MoU to Develop Regional Transport Aircraft Ecosystem

Adani Defence & Aerospace and Embraer, a Brazil-based aerospace company, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop a regional transport aircraft ecosystem in India. This information was shared via a press release dated 27th January 2026.

As per the press release, the partnership intends to combine its respective capabilities, where Embraer will provide its engineering expertise and aircraft manufacturing capabilities. Whereas, Adani will support with its capabilities in airport infrastructure, aerospace manufacturing, Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services, and pilot training.

The company’s target is to establish the Final Assembly Line (FAL) in India. Also, this project will align with Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative as the companies will step-by-step increase indigenisation, which will be a push towards nation’s goal of self-reliance. Consequently, this industrial partnership is expected to advance the nation’s Regional Transport Aircraft (RTA) programme.

Mr Ashish Rajvanshi, President & CEO, Adani Defence & Aerospace, shared, “We are shaping India’s regional transport aircraft ecosystem, a bold stride toward Aatmanirbhar aviation that bridges urban-rural divides”. He further added that this drive will generate employment opportunities and raise India’s position on a global scale in the aerospace sector.
