Laser Power & Infra. Secures Rs. 836 Cr. Distribution Network Orders
Kolkata-based Laser Power & Infra Ltd. has secured three orders collectively worth Rs. 836 crore for the supply of power cables and other equipment for utility sector projects. These projects have been secured under Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). Laser Power has won these orders from NTPC, Kanpur Electric Supply Company (KESCo), and Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam (JDVVNL).
KESCo’s order is valued at Rs. 422.11 crore for distribution system strengthening which involves supply of company’s distribution cables and conductors, followed by subsequent erection and commissioning. Furthermore, NTPC has placed Rs. 422.11 crore order for loss-reduction works in Udhampur and Reasi, Jammu & Kashmir. Supply of High Tension and Low Tension lines, Aerial Bunched cables and overhead conductors will be the major component of this project. Apart from this, Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam has placed a Rs. 202.13 crore order for feeder segregation and distribution infrastructure development. This project will make use of the company’s in-house manufactured conductors and cabling systems.
Mr. Deepak Goel, Chairman & Managing Director, Laser Power & Infra, said, “These projects are executed on a turnkey basis, the real value comes from the volumes of cables and conductors we supply from our integrated plants in West Bengal.” He added that EPC simply enables the company to deliver and install their own products which exact the same standards as they follow inside their factory.
Moreover, Laser Power & Infra. is planning a Rs. 1,200 crore Initial Public Offering (IPO), for which it has filed Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with SEBI. However, dates for this IPO are yet to be specified.
