Envision Energy India Breaks Ground for Rs. 500 Cr. Wind Turbine Blade Plant in Gujarat
Envision Energy India recently held the ground-breaking ceremony for its 2 GW per annum wind turbine blade manufacturing facility in Kalyangadh of Gujarat’s Ahmedabad district. The company plans to invest Rs. 500 crore in developing this plant.
This upcoming facility will be the company’s third manufacturing unit in India. Designed with six moulds, the plant will be capable of producing up to 1,500 blades annually for both 3.3 MW and 5 MW wind turbine platforms. The plant will cater to more than 4 GW of wind energy projects across over 10 sites in five districts of Gujarat.
Once fully operational by mid-2027, the facility is expected to create around 4,000 direct and indirect jobs.
Commenting on this development, Mr. RPV Prasad, Managing Director of Envision Energy India, said, “This new facility in Gujarat is not just an investment in infrastructure, but an investment in India’s clean energy future”.
According to several media reports, India currently has over 18 GW of annual domestic manufacturing capacity for wind turbines and components. Major Indian wind turbine manufacturers include Suzlon, Envision, Siemens Gamesa, ZF Wind Power, Aditya Birla Advanced Materials, GE Vernova, and Inox Wind.
