JK Cement Breaks Ground for Rs. 3,000 Cr. Greenfield Jaisalmer Plant

JK Cement Ltd. has conducted the groundbreaking ceremony of its greenfield plant in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. This facility will be developed with an investment of about Rs. 3,000 crore, and will spread across 525 acres.

Slated for completion by early 2027, this plant is situated near limestone reserves, thus facilitating raw material procurement. Further, its location in Jaisalmer offers proximity to cement markets in Rajasthan, Haryana, and Gujarat. At the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Madhavkrishna Singhania, CEO & Joint Managing Director, JK Cement, said, “With its strategic location, cutting-edge technology, and focus on sustainability, the Jaisalmer plant will allow us to serve customers more effectively while delivering long-term value to stakeholders and the local community”.

Only recently, in August 2025, JK Cement’s board had approved a total investment of Rs. 4,805 crore to augment its total cement production capacity by 7 Million Metric Tonne Per Annum (MMTPA). Apart from other locations, this plan includes setting up a 4 MMTPA clinkerisation unit and a 3 MMTPA grinding unit in Jaisalmer. Therefore, it can be speculated that the aforementioned greenfield cement plant is a part of this recently announced investment.
