Tender Floated for First Civil Contract of Visakhapatnam Metro
Andhra Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation has invited bids for a Rs. 6,250 crore civil contract of Vizag Metro, also known as the Visakhapatnam Metro Phase 1 project. This marks the first civil contract of the Vizag metro.
The contract involves engineering, design, and construction of a 46.23 Km-long viaduct and 42 elevated metro stations. These works will be carried out on an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) basis for Phase 1 of the Visakhapatnam Metro Rail project. The 46.23 km-long viaduct will cover three corridors. The first corridor will be of 34.26 Km and will connect Steel Plant Junction to Kommadi (NH-16). The second corridor will be 5.28 km long, running between Gurudwara and Old Post Office. The third corridor, of 6.91 km, will connect Thatichatiapalem to Chinna Waltair / RK Beach in Visakhapatnam.
The last date for submission of bids is 11 August 2025. Notably, Systra Consultancy is general consultant for the Visakhapatnam Metro rail project and will be responsible for overseeing the planning, designing, and construction of the project.
