STL-Dilip Buildcon JV Secures Rs. 2,631 Cr. BharatNet Order
Vedanta Group’s Sterlite Technologies Ltd. (STL) and Bhopal-headquartered Dilip Buildcon Ltd. (DBL), in a joint venture (JV), have secured Advanced Work Order (AWO) from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) for executing works under phase 3 of BharatNet project. The total value of this order has been pegged at Rs. 2,631 crore.
STL-DBL JV to Develop BharatNet Middle-Mile Network in J&K and Ladakh
Sterlite Tech.-Dilip Buildcon JV will be executing middle-mile network for BharatNet phase-3 project in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Union Territories. Middle-mile network connects last-mile network to the greater internet infrastructure.
As per the aforementioned order, STL-Dilip Buildcon JV will build the network in a period of 3 years, followed by 10 years of Operation and Maintenance (O&M) services.
Order’s CapEx Component Rs. 1,620.50 Cr., Rest to be OpEx
Out of the total value of the order, the executing JV will develop the network at a cost of about Rs. 1,620.50 crore. This component includes design, supply of Optical Fibre Cables (OFCs), as well as construction and installation of the middle-mile network.
The remaining Rs. 972.30 crore will be for O&M services to be provided by the JV post laying of the network for 10 years. Out of this, O&M services worth a total of Rs. 445.64 crore will be provided in the first 5 years, and services collectively worth Rs. 526.66 crore will be provided for the next 5 years.
Dilip Buildcon’s stock filing dated 27th March 2025 mentions that out of the total work mentioned in the aforementioned order, Dilip Buildcon will execute 70.23% of the project.
Dilip Buildcon Gains 5%, STL Stock Up 2% Post BharatNet Order Win
Dilip Buildcon’s stock gained 5.13% after the announcement of the aforementioned order win. The company’s stocks were trading at Rs. 477.65 apiece on the day of filing this order win against Rs. 454.35 apiece on the previous trading day.
Sterlite Tech.’s stock was also up, gaining 2.27% after the company filed the aforementioned order wins with stock exchanges.
