JSW Energy Subsidiary Wins 192 MW Hybrid Power Project from GUVNL
JSW Energy Ltd.’s wholly-owned subsidiary JSW Neo Energy Ltd. has received Letter of Intent (LoI) from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GUVNL) for developing a 192 MW Hybrid power project in India. The company has won this project with 96 MW of Greenshoe option*.
*Greenshoe option allows the developer to build additional power capacity, which supplies power at same tariff as the original bid.
JSW Neo Energy secured this order through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process in GUVNL’s auction for 500 MW of grid-connected hybrid power projects, which included a 500 MW ‘Greenshoe option’.
Following this award, JSW Energy’s power generation portfolio stands at 16.2 GW, which includes 2.1 GW of hybrid power generation capacity. The company’s aforementioned portfolio comprises 7.5 GW of operational projects, 2.3 GW of projects under construction across wind, thermal, and hydropower segments, and 6.3 GW of projects in the pipeline. Out of the projects in the pipeline, JSW Energy has already signed Power Purchase Agreements for 2 GW of projects.
