NTPC REL Floats Tender to Develop 960 MW Wind Energy Project in Karnataka

NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd. has issued a tender to develop a 960 MW wind power project in Karnataka, connected to the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS). This project will consist of two blocks: Block 1 will deploy 164 Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) with a total capacity of 492 MW, while Block 2 will have 156 WTGs capable of generating 468 MW cumulatively.

Scope of work includes designing, engineering, manufacturing, supplying, installing, testing, and commissioning of WTGs of minimum 3 MW rated capacity each. Successful bidders will also manage the operation and maintenance of the project for 10 years post-commissioning. This responsibility includes providing spare parts and repairing or replacing faulty equipment. Additionally, winning bidders must secure statutory approvals and clearances for power evacuation, grid connectivity, and coordination with state nodal renewable energy agencies.
