WBSEDCL Invites Bids for Setting Up 205 EV Charging and Battery Swapping Stations
West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd. (WBSEDCL) has floated a tender for developing Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations / battery swapping facilities in Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) mode at 205 locations across West Bengal.
These stations will be developed on sites owned by WBSEDCL, and will be developed by private players within 180 days from the day of handing over the land. Once the site is handed over to the private player, the latter will be in-charge of planning, designing and investing in the facility. The private player will also operate and maintain the facility. Initial contract period for these facilities will be 10 years, with possibilities of extension.
Out of the total 205 EV charging stations/battery swapping facilities, 40 will be located alongside National Highways in West Bengal, while the rest 165 will be located elsewhere in the state. The tender document further states that the EV chargers to be developed should be able to support electric 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers and 4-wheelers.
Last date for the submission of bids is 18th November 2022.
