Vedanta Discovers Natural Gas in Gujarat
Vedanta Ltd., a large and diversified Indian natural resources company, on 23rd August 2021 announced the discovery of natural gas in a block in Gujarat that it had won in 2018 through the open acreage licensing policy (OALP) round of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Govt. of India.
In a stock exchange filing, Vedanta stated that it had notified the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH) and Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas on August 23, of gas and condensate discovery in its exploratory well Jaya1, drilled in Bharuch District of Gujarat.
The block was awarded to Vedanta Ltd. in October 2018 and is one of the 41 areas awarded to it in OALP-I round of bidding.
