Two PV Manufacturing Plants Planned in MP with Rs. 9,600 Cr. Investment

Two solar equipment manufacturing plants, entailing a total investment of about Rs. 9,600 crore have been planned to come up in Madhya Pradesh. One of these is being developed by Jakson Engineers Limited, while the other is being set up by Insolation Green Energy Pvt. Ltd.

Jakson Engineers to Invest Rs. 8,000 Crore in 6 GW Integrated Solar Plant

Jakson Engineers Limited, a part of Jakson Group, will establish a 6 GW integrated solar module, cell, and wafer manufacturing plant at Maksi Phase II, Madhya Pradesh. The project will be developed in two phases with a total investment of Rs. 8,000 crore. MP government has allocated 110 acre of land to Jakson Engineers’ upcoming plant.

According to the company’s press release dated 26th August 2025, it will be the largest single investment for solar manufacturing in the state yet.

Jakson Engineers’ Plant to Come up in 2 Phases

Once phase-1 of the project is complete, Jakson Engineers will have an annual manufacturing capacity of 3 GW of solar modules and 3 GW of solar cells. This phase will entail an investment of about Rs. 2,000 crore. The company expects the first solar module to roll out by May 2026, while solar cell production is projected to begin by September 2026.

Once the second phase of this facility is completed, the company will be able to churn out 6 GW of solar wafers, 3 GW of solar modules and 3 GW of solar cells annually. This step is crucial in terms of backward integration, and the company will invest about Rs. 6,000 crore in developing phase-2 of this facility.

Overall, the plant is expected to generate about 1,000 employment opportunities during the construction phase and 1,400 jobs once operations begin.

Highlighting the importance of this project, Mr. Gagan Chanana, Joint Managing Director & CEO of Jakson Solar Modules and Cells, said, “The global demand for solar energy is soaring. Our fully integrated facility and unique ‘four-in-one’ business model as a manufacturer, developer, EPC, and O&M provider aims to contribute to meeting India’s energy needs and position the country as a global solar leader”.

Insolation Energy to Build Rs. 1,600 Crore Solar Cell & Aluminium Frame Plant

Insolation Green Energy Pvt. Ltd., 100% subsidiary of Insolation Energy Ltd., has performed groundbreaking ceremony for its upcoming solar cell and aluminium frame manufacturing plant at the Manufacturing Zone for Power and Renewables in Mohasa Babai, Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh.

The company will invest Rs. 1,600 crore in this facility, which will have an annual capacity of 4.5 GW of solar cells and 18,000 Metric Tonne (MT) of aluminium frames. This new plant is expected to be commissioned in 2027, and it will be spread across 45 acres, Insolation Energy’s upcoming plant is expected to generate 1,600 direct and indirect job opportunities.

This will be Insolation Energy’s fourth manufacturing facility in India and its first outside of Rajasthan.

Commenting on the development, Mr. Manish Gupta, Chairman & Whole-Time Director of Insolation Energy Limited, said, “This new facility will play a significant role in augmenting our capacity to cater to the growing consumer demand across India”.
