Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. (TPREL) has won a contract to develop 255 MW of grid-connected solar-wind hybrid power capacity from Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd. (TPDDL) on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis.

As per the tender, TPDDL requires 85 MW of solar power capacity and 170 MW of wind power capacity to be set up. The minimum size of each hybrid project has been specified as 50 MW.

Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. has secured this contract through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding, with a quoted tariff of Rs. 3 per unit as per Mercom India. TPDDL will shortly be signing a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with TPREL.

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd.’s tender had been floated in September 2022 with a greenshoe option for procuring additional 255 MW of hybrid power. The solar-wind power mix in this additionally procured power will be in the same ratio.
