Tata’s TS Alloys Wins Bid for Sukinda Chromite Deposit in Odisha

TS Alloys, a subsidiary of Tata Steel, has listed the highest bid in the auction held on 17 March 2020 for Sukinda Chromite deposit in Odisha. Upper cap on mining rights is 95.81 million tonne Sukinda Chromite deposit. Time period for mining right would be 50 years.

The company would be paying Odisha government 93.75 percent of the average sale price set by the Indian Bureau of Mines on the total chromite mined. The other companies participating were Vedanta, MSPL and Rungta Group.
