Sterlite Technologies Limited (STL) [BSE: 532374, NSE: STRTECH], a major Indian manufacturer of Optical Fibre Cables (OFCs), has announced its financial results for Q3 of FY-25.

Sterlite Technologies’ Q3 FY-25 revenue decreased by 4.61% to Rs. 1,261 crore from Rs. 1,322 crore revenue during Q3 of FY-24. The company reported a loss of Rs. 24 crore during third quarter of FY-25 which was down by 59.32% from STL’s loss of Rs. 59 crore during Q3 of FY-24.

Sterlite Tech.’s QoQ Results Comparison: Q3 FY-25 vs. Q2 FY-25

Quarter-over-Quarter (QoQ), STL’s revenue from operations slumped by 10.76% from Rs. 1,413 crore, which was logged during Q2 of FY-25. The company’s loss increased QoQ by 71.43% from Rs. 14 crore loss reported during Q2 FY-25.

Optical Networking Business: Sterlite Technologies’ Optical Networking Business designs and manufactures optical fiber, optical fiber cables, and optical interconnect products.

Sterlite Technologies’ Optical Networking Business earned a revenue of Rs. 924 crore during Q3 of FY-25, up by 7.82% YoY from Rs. 857 crore revenue reported for Q3 of FY-24.

Global Services Business: Sterlite Tech’s Global services business deals with OFC network deployment and ‘end-to-end’ system integration.

The revenue from this segment of Sterlite Technologies was down by 28.64% YoY to Rs. 289 crore during Q3 of FY-25 from Rs. 405 crore reported for Q3 of FY-24.

Digital and Technology Solutions: STL’s Digital and technology solutions segment provides technology solutions to telecom companies.

STL’s revenue from its Digital and Technology Solutions segment decreased by 3.75% to Rs. 77 crore during Q3 of FY-25 from Rs. 80 crore in Q3 of FY-24.

Sterlite Technologies’ Narrowing Losses, Healthy Order Book

On STL’s continuing losses, Mr. Tushar Shroff, Group CFO, STL mentioned The quarter-on-quarter revenue decline is attributable to lower OFC volumes and lower revenue in GS business. Profit after tax losses are narrowing on year-on-year basis.

Mr. Ankit Agarwal, Managing Director of STL said “We are well positioned to capitalise on opportunities in the evolving market landscape with our focus on new product development, diversified customer segments and key markets across the globe. Our Data Centre and Enterprise product portfolio continues to gain higher traction, driving increased customer interest and market adoption”.

Sterlite Technologies’ order book stood at Rs. 9,050 crore as of Q3 of FY-25 as compared to Rs. 9,849 crore of order book as of Q3 of FY-24.

Highlighting the major order wins during Q3 of FY-25, the company mentioned in its earnings presentation that STL won ‘large long term contract’ from an American customer for supplying Optical Fibre Cables (OFCs). The company had also won orders from Italian distributors, UK telecom operators and a company based in France.
