Sterlite Technologies FY-25 Financials: Revenue Down 2% , Company Reports Loss

Sterlite Technologies Limited (STL), [BSE: 532374, NSE: STLTECH], a major Indian Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) manufacturer, has announced its financial results for Q4 of FY-25 and the financial year ended 31st March 2025.

Sterlite Technologies’ Standalone Financial Results: Q4 FY-25 & FY-25

During Q4 of FY-25, Sterlite Technologies clocked a standalone revenue of Rs. 555 crore. The company reported a loss of Rs. 25 crore during Q4 of FY-25.

For the entire FY-25, Sterlite Tech’s standalone topline was Rs. 2,215 crore. The company’s loss stood at Rs. 115 crore considering the entire fiscal.

Year-over-Year (YoY) comparison of Sterlite’s financial figures shows a 24.79% jump in the company’s Q4 topline to Rs. 1,052 crore in FY-25 from Rs. 843 crore in FY-24. The company reported a loss of Rs. 40 crore during Q4 of FY-25, which is down by 51.22% YoY from the company’s loss of Rs. 82 crore during Q4 of FY-24.

During the entire financial year 2024-25, the company’s revenue from operations decreased by 2.13% to Rs. 3,996 crore from STL’s Rs. 4,083 crore revenue, which was reported for FY-24. STL’s loss stood at Rs. 123 crore for FY-25, which is 2.16 times of its Rs. 57 crore loss reported for FY-24.

Sterlite Technologies’ loss per share stood at Rs. 0.84 during Q4 of FY-25 against loss per share of Rs. 2.54 during entire FY-25 (EPS Rs. -2.54).

QoQ Comparison of Sterlite’ Financials: Q4 FY-25 vs. Q3 FY-25

On a Quarter-over-Quarter (QoQ) basis, the company’s revenue increased by 5.31% from Rs. 999 crore revenue clocked during Q3 of FY-25. Sterlite Technologies’ net loss increased by 66.67% QoQ from Rs. 24 crore reported for Q3 of FY-25.

Optical networking business: Sterlite Technologies’ Optical networking business engages in designing and manufacturing of optical fibre, optical fibre cables and optical interconnect products.

During Q4 of FY-25, this segment of the company brought in a revenue of Rs. 979 crore as compared to Rs. 777 crore during Q4 of FY-24. This shows a YoY increase of 26%.

Considering the entire financial year 2024-25, STL’s revenue from Optical networking business segment stood at Rs. 3,741 crore, exhibiting a decrease of 2.32% from Rs. 3,830 crore logged during FY-24.

Digital and technology solutions: According to STL, it’s Digital and technology solutions segment provides telecom companies with technology solutions.

This segment of the company earned a revenue of Rs. 78 crore during Q4 of FY-25 which is same as revenue earned during Q4 of FY-24.

For the entire fiscal year 2024-25, the company’s revenue from this segment saw a decrease of 2.68% to Rs. 290 crore, from Rs. 298 crore clocked during FY-24.

Sterlite’s Major Order Wins During Q4 of FY-25

During Q4 of FY-25, Sterlite Technologies has secured a U.S. contract for high-fiber-count optical fiber cable solutions. Apart from this, STL has won additional orders from a leading Optical Service Provider (OSP) in the Americas for OFC and optical interconnect products. Through STL Digital, its subsidiary, the company had also finalized a technology-outsourcing deal with a major Indian industrial conglomerate, and it received repeat orders in India for its connectivity solutions.

The company’s order book stood at Rs. 4,378 crore during Q4 of FY-25.

Sterlite Tech.’s Outlook for FY-26

During the company’s earnings call for its FY-25 financials, Mr. Ankit Agarwal, Managing Director of STL, said, Some of the key strategic priorities for FY26 – our focus remains on driving growth by increasing market share and optical fiber cables and improving our connectivity attach rates”. He added that the company will focus on increasing its revenue from data centre segment. For this, STL will develop products specifically designed for deployment in data centres.
