Sterlite Power Completes Gurugram Intracity Fiber Network

Sterlite Power, a global integrated power transmission developer and solutions provider, completed its Gurugram Smart City Optical Fiber Intracity Project on 16th July 2020. The project is meant to support the city’s communication needs.
Sterlite Power’s Convergence Business unit had signed an agreement with GMDA (Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority) on PPP (Public-Private Partnership) mode to design, build, operate and maintain intracity fiber network earlier in July 2018.
About Sterlite Power’s Gurugram Optical Fibre Intracity Project
Sterlite power has built a fiber network of 138 km in the city. As per agreement Sterlite will manage and maintain this network for 21 years.
For this project, Sterlite Power had installed four underground ducts for carrying fibers. With this all bus stops, schools, police stations, Government buildings along with various private buildings are connected.
Out of the four ducts, two ducts are dedicated to Gurugram Smart City’s operation and other two can be commercially used by communication service providers.
The entire system is monitored with an integrated fiber monitoring system.
