SOCOMEC India, an electrical equipment engineering and manufacturing company, has announced the launch of ‘ATyS a M’ preset Automatic Transfer Switching Equipment (ATSE).

‘ATyS a M’ Suitable for Low Voltage Applications, Designed for On-Load Operations

SOCOMEC India’s newest ATSE is suitable for use in Low Voltage installations. Being an Automatic Transfer Switching Equipment, ‘ATyS a M’ facilitates automatic switching between power sources. For this purpose, ‘ATyS a M’ comprises an ‘integrated pre-set controller’. This controller is preprogrammed to manage power source transfer based on defined limits and thresholds. However, ‘ATyS a M’ also offers the option of manual switching.

‘ATyS a M’ has been designed for on-load operations in cases where a ‘brief’ interruption in power supply to the load is acceptable. On-load operation in case of transfer switches implies that power source to a load can be swapped while the load is live.

Key Specifications of SOCOMEC ‘ATyS a M’

SOCOMEC’s new ATSE is available with 4 poles, for usage in 25 A to 160 A current range. ‘ATys a M’ has been designed for loads defined in IEC’s AC-33B utilisation category. This category includes motor loads, and mixed loads comprising motors and resistors and up to 30% incandescent lamp loads.

Apart from this SOCOMEC ‘ATyS a M’ also offers Modbus communication.

‘ATyS a M’ adheres to IEC 60947-6-1 standard for Transfer Switching Equipment (TSE) to be used in LV applications. Further, ‘ATyS a M’ is a PC class Transfer Switching Equipment, which implies that it has been designed to switch between power sources smoothly without any voltage dips. Additionally, ‘ATyS a M’ is capable of isolating loads by means of a locking device.

SOCOMEC has stated that due to the modular design of ‘ATyS a M’, …mounting and cabling spaces are optimised to allow the use of more compact panels, thereby enhancing cost-effectiveness.
