Siemens acquires Mass-Tech Control’s EV Division

Siemens, a global leader in technology and engineering solutions, has recently announced its acquisition of Mass-Tech Controls’ Electric Vehicle division. Mass-Tech Controls Pvt. Ltd. is involved in manufacturing of Industrial UPS Systems, DC distribution panels, battery chargers etc. headquartered in Mumbai.

Siemens’s acquisition of Mass-Tech’s EV division is a strategic move which reflects its interest in the growing Electric Vehicle industry in India. The cost of acquisition is approximately Rs. 38 Crore (EUR 4.3 million) on a cash-free and debt-free basis. After completion of acquisition, the EV division of Mass-Tech Controls will be fully integrated into the e-Mobility Business Unit of the Smart Infrastructure Business, Siemens Limited.

Commenting on the acquisition Mr. Markus Mildner, CEO of eMobility at Siemens Smart Infrastructure said “The fast-evolving e-mobility infrastructure market in India is important for Siemens due to its high growth potential. The enhanced portfolio will enable Siemens to meet market requirements such as homologation and local value-add with cost-competitive solutions. With this acquisition, we now have a strong platform to address our customers’ needs with locally designed and produced products”.

Mass-Tech’s EV Chargers to Expand Siemens e-mobility Solutions Range

Mass-Tech’s EV division is engaged in design, engineering, and manufacturing of DC chargers as well as AC chargers. Mass-Tech Controls have DC Fast charger output power range from 10kW to 200kW. These chargers are compatible with all DC Fast charger protocols (GB/T, CCS, CHAdeMO). Mass-Tech Controls also have AC chargers Type 2 ranging from 2kW to 43 kW. The addition of these products will complete Siemens India’s portfolio of e-mobility solutions and will address the needs of the Indian market.

About Siemens e-mobility Division: is part of Siemens Limited (India) which provides solutions related to electric vehicles. This includes AC Wallbox, DC fast charging, DC charging for fleets, etc. along with software solutions for battery and energy management of EV charging stations.
