Maharashtra Renewable Energy Plan for Support to Agriculture Sector

Maharashtra’s major rural population is dependent upon agriculture for livelihood. But, scarcity of water and power supply to these areas has been a challenge for Government.
Maharashtra Cabinet in August 2024 allocated Rs 10,000 crore for the Chief Minister’s solar agriculture feeder program 2.0. The program targets deployment of 1,50,000 Off-Grid Solar Powered Agriculture pumps in a phase-wise manner by 2030.

Strategic Alignment with RMC’s Solar Module Manufacturing Plant

This order win follows RMC’s recent decision to establish a 1 GW Solar Module manufacturing plant in Jaipur, Rajasthan, which is anticipated to begin production by July 2025, and entails an investment of Rs. 100 crore. RMC’s backward integration strategy targets to reduce dependence on external suppliers, while supporting the growing demand for solar power modules in large-scale projects.
