Reliance Power Subsidiary & SECI Sign PPA for BESS-backed Solar Project

Reliance NU Suntech Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Anil Ambani-owned Reliance Power, has signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to develop Asia’s (ex-China) largest single-location integrated solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. This project will be developed in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh with an investment of Rs. 10,000 crore. This project was awarded to Reliance NU Suntech by SECI in January 2025.

The Power Purchase Agreement entails supply of 930 MW of solar power integrated with a 465 MW / 1,860 MWh BESS. Power will be supplied at a tariff of Rs 3.53 per KWh. This project will deploy more than 1,700 MWp of installed solar generation capacity to achieve the contracted capacity of 930 MW.

This BESS-backed solar project will be completed in a period of 24 months.
