On a Year-over-Year (YoY) basis, the company’s revenue from operations increased by 16.45% to Rs. 660.15 crore during Q2 of FY-25 from Rs. 566.90 crore reported for Q2 of FY-24. Further, PAT of the company stood at Rs. 10.44 crore during Q2 of FY-25 against Rs. 18.45 crore in Q2 of FY-24. This reflects that the company’s PAT fell YoY by 43.41%.

Earning Per Share (EPS) of the company was Rs. 0.49 during Q2 of FY-25 and Rs. 0.86 during Q2 of FY-24.

QoQ Analysis of Orient Electric’s Financial Figures: Q2 FY-25 vs. Q1 FY-25

On a Quarter-over-Quarter (QoQ) basis, Orient Electric’s revenue slumped by 12.55% from Rs. 754.86 crore clocked during Q1 of FY-25. Following this downward trend, the company’s PAT fell by 27.20% on QoQ basis from Rs. 14.34 crore PAT during Q1 of FY-25.

Comparison of Orient Electric’s Segmental Revenue: Q2 FY24 vs. Q2 FY25

Electrical Consumer Durables: During Q2 of FY-25, the company reported Rs. 439.51 crore as revenue from its Electrical Consumer Durables segment against Rs. 363.44 crore earned during Q2 of FY-24. This shows a YoY growth of 20.93% in the company’s quarterly Electrical Consumer Durables segment revenue.

Lighting & Switchgear: Orient Electric earned a revenue of Rs. 220.64 crore from its Lighting & Switchgear business segment during Q2 of FY-25, representing an YoY increase of 8.44% from Rs. 203.46 crore logged for Q2 of FY-24.

Commenting on the growth of the company’s Lighting & Switchgear segment, Mr. Ravindra Singh Negi, MD & CEO of Orient Electric said “Despite continuing value erosion, we are performing well in the Lighting segment, with high teens volume growth in the B2C segment”. He added that the company is focusing on increasing value-added premium products in the Lighting portfolio such as downlighters, rope lights, high voltage lamps, emergency lamps, and panels is helping us deliver growth.
