Green H2 Hub to Contribute to India’s Clean Energy Goals, Foundation Laid
NGEL’s Green H2 Hub is being developed over 1200 acres with an investment of around Rs. 1.85 lakh crore. As per the PIB press release, dated 8th January 2025, foundation for this hub was laid in January 2025. This project is being developed via a 50:50 Joint Venture between NTPC and Andhra government’s New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation (NREDCAP).
Green H2 Hub will utilize 7 GW of renewable energy and will have a capacity to produce 1500 TPD of Green Hydrogen. This Hub will also produce 7500 TPD Green Hydrogen derivatives, which includes: Green Methanol, Green Urea and Sustainable Aviation Fuel. Additionally, this Green H2 Hub project in Andhra will contribute to Nation’s renewable energy capacity of 500 GW by 2030.
