NHAI to Build Rs. 5,000 Cr. Elevated Delhi-Gurugram Corridor
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will be constructing an elevated corridor in Delhi NCR, connecting AIIMS to the Mahipalpur bypass and the Gurugram-Faridabad Road. This Rs. 5,000 crore infrastructure project targets to ease congestion on the existing Delhi-Gurugram highway (NH-48) and improve connectivity across South Delhi and adjoining regions.
NHAI has invited bids for the preparation of the Detailed Project Report (DPR), which is expected to be completed by 15th October 2025. The proposed corridor will span approximately 20 Km. The exact project details along with the specific cost of the project will be available after the completion of the DPR.
The elevated stretch will begin from AIIMS/INA, extend via Nadira Marg, and connect the Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road and Gurgaon-Faridabad Road, running parallel to the existing Delhi-Gurugram highway. The route will cover key areas such as AIIMS/INA, Brigadier Hoshiyar Singh Marg, Africa Avenue, Nelson Mandela Marg, Vasant Vihar, Vasant Kunj, and Arjangarh, before culminating at the Faridabad-Gurgaon Road.
Once completed, this signal-free corridor is expected to significantly enhance connectivity between Delhi and major satellite cities, including Ghaziabad, Noida, and Greater Noida, providing a faster travel experience for commuters.
