MMRDA Re-Issues 2,064 Cr. Mumbai Metro Rolling Stock & Signalling Tender

Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has re-invited bids for the supply of rolling stock and execution of signalling works on a section of the Mumbai Metro‘s Pink Line (Line-6). This tender, designated as CA-232, has an estimated execution cost of Rs. 2,064.63 crore.

Scope of work as per the tender includes design, manufacture, supply, and installation of 108 metro coaches (18 trains with 6 coaches each) for the Pink Line. The successful bidder will be responsible for subsequent testing and commissioning of these metro coaches.

Additionally, the tender entails commissioning of Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) signaling system post-installation and testing of the same. Apart from this, supply and installation of platform screen door systems followed by their testing and commissioning are included in this tender. Depot machinery and plant works will also be executed at the Kanjurmarg Depot.

Successful bidder will provide maintenance services for a period of 17 years, which includes a 2-year defect liability maintenance period. Moreover, the first train is to be delivered within 1 year from the date of contract signing, whereas the remaining 17 trains are to be delivered within 2 years from the date of signing the contract.
