Jupiter International to Set up Rs. 2,005 Cr. Solar Module Manufacturing Plant in Odisha
Jupiter International Ltd. will be investing Rs. 2,005 crore for setting up a solar cell and module manufacturing plant in Khordha, Odisha. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for this plant has been signed between the company and the Government of Odisha during Utkarsh Odisha conclave held in Bhubaneswar.
Aforementioned plant will be built by Jupiter Intl’s. subsidiary Jupiter Solar Renewable Energy Solutions. However, the company did not specify the completion period for this plant.
Jupiter International’s upcoming plant in Odisha will have an annual 4.2 GW of solar cells manufacturing capacity and 3.6 GW of modules production capacity. Highlighting the importance of this upcoming plant, Mr. Alok Garodia, Managing Director of Jupiter Intl. said “By integrating advanced solar cell and module manufacturing, this facility will help strengthen and create a sustainable supply chain that supports India’s clean energy transition”.
This expansion aligns with the company’s target to achieve 9.4 GW of solar cell production, 6 GW of module production and 3 GW of wafer production annually, over the course of next 3 years. Currently, the company has a 1 GW solar cell manufacturing plant in Himachal Pradesh.
