ITD Cementation India L1 Bidder for Pune Metro’s Underground Package
ITD Cementation India Limited has emerged as the Lowest (L1) bidder for the Swargate–Katraj section of the Pune Metro. Spanning 5.46 km, this underground stretch forms part of Pune Metro’s Purple Line and falls under Package P1A-UGC(R) of the Pune Metro project.
The company had submitted a bid of Rs. 1,643.88 crore for executing this package. Scope of work includes the design and construction of twin tunnels and five underground stations located at Market Yard (Gultekdi), Bibwewadi, Padmawati, Balaji Nagar, and Katraj. The tunneling works will be carried out along the North–South Corridor of the Pune Metro Rail Project.
This Swargate–Katraj section will serve as southern extension of existing District court – Swargate corridor of Pune Metro.
The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Maha-Metro) had invited bids for this underground package in October 2024 with an estimated development cost of Rs. 2,144 crore. Therefore, ITD Cementation’s bid is 24% lower than Maha-Metro’s estimate for this package.
