Indian Oil Plans to set 500 EV Charging Stations

Executive Director of Indian Oil Corporation, Karnataka State Office DL Pramodh announced that IOCL has got a target from Ministry of Power to set up 500 electric charging stations across the country as part of phase 1 of the Ministry’s Electric Vehicle Rollout Plan. The target has been given by the ministry of power to IOCL in the first phase.

Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. has signed MoUs with NTPC Ltd, Power Grid Corporation Ltd, Hyundai Motors, Tech Mahindra and Tata Power for setting up charging stations. The company has already identified 58 locations for setting up battery swapping and charging stations in the state of Karnataka and by 31st March the state aims for having 34 vehicle charging facilities.
