Indian Govt. Approves Rs.743 Cr. Investment for 27 Cold Storage Facilities

Inter-ministerial Approval Committe (IMAC) of Government of India has approved INR 743 Crore budget for Ministry of Food Processing Industries’ scheme on integrated cold chain and value addition infrastructure.

Under this scheme 27 new cold storage chain projects will be built across 11 states.
It is likely to employ 16,200 people and expected to benefit around 2,57,904 farmers.

Thr 24 proposed cold chain projects would be as follows: Andhra Pradesh (7), Bihar (1), Gujarat (2), Haryana (4), Karnataka (3), Kerala (1), Madhya Pradesh (1), Punjab (1), Rajasthan (2), Tamil Nadu (4) and Uttar Pradesh (1).
