HFCL Subsidiary, HTL Wins Optical Fibre Cable Assemblies Order from Indian Army
HTL Limited, a subsidiary of HFCL Limited, has secured an order worth Rs. 44.36 crore for supplying tactical Optical Fiber Cable (OFCs) assemblies to the Indian army. This information was shared by HFCL in its stock filing dated 7th March 2025.
Scope of work in this order for HTL includes supplying of tactical Optical Fiber Cable assemblies as per customer specifications. An optic fibre cable assembly is a fully assembled unit that includes optical fibers, connectors, protective jackets, and other components, designed to enable the transmission of optical signals between devices or systems.
HFCL Ltd. mentioned in their stock filing about the Optical Fibre Cable assemblies offered to the Indian Army “Lightweight and portable, it can be conveniently carried by infantry in a backpack”. The company also mentioned that the optical fibre cables in these assemblies were designed to withstand heavy armored vehicle loads. The connectors to be used in the assemblies were designed for harsh and demanding environments.
HTL Limited is expected to execute this order by July 2025.
It is also interesting to note that HFCL is also expanding its optical fiber manufacturing capacity to 33.90 million fiber kilometers per annum (fkm p.a.) from the current 14 million fkm p.a. This information was shared by the company during its Q3 FY-25 earning call.
