Govt. Reopens Application Window for White Goods PLI Scheme
Government has reopened application window for Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for white goods such as Air Conditioner (AC) components and LED lights. Applications will be accepted till 14th October 2025.
As per the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s release dated 14th September 2025, new applicants as well as existing beneficiaries of this PLI scheme who wish to invest more, are eligible to apply. As per the ministry, this decision has been taken in order to avoid any discrimination. Till now, a total of 83 applicants with a committed investment of Rs. 10,406 crore, have been selected as beneficiaries under this PLI Scheme.
Union Cabinet had approved the PLI Scheme for White Goods covering the manufacture of components and sub-assemblies of ACs and LED lights in April 2021, and this scheme is being implemented over a seven-year period, from FY-22 to FY-29, with a total outlay of Rs. 6,238 crore. Before this, application window for this PLI scheme was open from 15th July 2024 to 12th October 2024.
As per the PIB release, these investments are expected to boost the manufacturing of components for air conditioners and LED lights across the entire value chain, including components that are currently not produced in sufficient quantities in India.
