Gensol Engineering Wins Rs. 780 Cr. Solar Project Order

Gensol Engineering Limited has secured an order for development of a 150 MW ground-mounted solar power project in Maharashtra. This project will be developed for a public sector utility at an estimated cost of Rs. 780 crore.

As per Gensol Engineering’s stock filing dated 3rd November 2024, this project will be developed on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis.

Gensol Engineering will be responsible for acquiring land for development of this project. Following the land acquisition, Gensol will be involved in engineering, designing, testing and subsequent commissioning of its upcoming solar power plant. Development of the associated power evacuation infrastructure to the State Transmission Utility (STU) substation is also included under scope of work of this project.

Post completion of this project, the company will also provide three years of operation and maintenance (O&M) services for the same. These O&M services will also include maintenance of the plant’s switchyard and its extensive transmission infrastructure.

This project is expected to be completed over a period of 15 months.

Commenting on this development, Ms. Shilpa Urhekar, Chief Executive Office of Solar EPC (India) at Gensol Engineering Ltd. said, “This significant project is a testament to Gensol’s growing expertise as a provider of comprehensive, end-to-end solar solutions. It will play a vital role in advancing India’s clean energy transition, aligning with our firm commitment to contributing to the right energy mix”.

The company mentioned in its annual report for FY-24 that Gensol Engineering has executed over 770 MW of solar projects, encompassing rooftop, ground-mounted, and floating solar installations across India. The company targets to achieve a cumulative installed capacity of 40,000 MW from rooftop solar projects by 2026.
