DRA Infracon, Megha Engineering Secure Khammam-Vijaywada Expressway’s Packages 1,2 & 3

Dineshchandra R Agrawal (DRA) Infracon and Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) have won orders for the construction of Khammam-Vijaywada expressway’s packages 1,2 & 3. DRA has won package 1 and MEIL has secured packages 2 & 3 under Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM)*. The companies received the respective Letters of Award (LoA) on 31st March 2023.

Scope of work in package 1 includes the construction of a 29.92 Km stretch of highway from Venkatayapalem village to Brahmanapalli (K) village, Telangana. Total cost for development of this package is Rs. 747 crore.

Package 2 of this project secured by MEIL involves the construction of a 29.8 Km stretch of highway from Brahmanapalli (K) village to Remidicherla village at a cost of Rs. 662.66 crore. The second package won by the company, namely Package 3, entails the construction of a 29.7 Km span of highway from Remidicherla village to Jakkampudi village at a cost of Rs. 745.83 crore.

This project will be executed under Bharatmala Pariyojana (BMP) program with a completion period of 2 years.

*Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) refers to a mode of Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) wherein the government and the private player share the project expenses in a 40:60 ratio respectively. After the private player develops the project, it is handed over to the government. The government pays a fixed annuity to the private player for a certain amount of time as defined in the contract.
