Amara Raja Secures Contract for Hydrogen Filling Station at Leh
Amara Raja Power Systems, a subsidiary of Tirupati-based Amara Raja Group, has secured a contract from NTPC to develop India’s first Green Hydrogen fuel filling station in Leh, Ladakh.
This upcoming project will produce 80 Kg of 99.97% pure Green Hydrogen per day. Green Hydrogen is produced by splitting water molecules into Hydrogen and Oxygen using Renewable Energy. Power required by this station will be sourced from a 1.25 MW dedicated solar plant which is being set up by NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd. (NTPC REL).
NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN) has plans to ply five Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric buses in Ladakh, and this upcoming station will cater to their fuelling needs. Domestic tenders had been invited by NTPC for this fueling station on 29th July 2021.
