Tata Power Wins 324 MW Hydro PSP Contract From SECI
Tata Power Company Limited has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) Limited for providing energy storage.
Under this contract, Tata Power will provide 324 MW of energy storage capacity from its upcoming 1000 MW Bhivpuri Hydro Pumped Storage Plant (PSP). The company will provide 8 hours of energy storage and dispatch electricity during peak power demand periods.
Tata Power will provide the aforesaid services to SECI for a period of 40 years at a tariff rate of Rs. 1.084 crore per MW each year, i.e., a total fixed annual charge of Rs. 351.3 crore.
Furthermore, to facilitate power evacuation, this facility will be connected to 765/400 kV South Kalamb CTU Substation, an Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS). Tata Power will begin supply of storage capacity within 36 months of the effective date of Pumped Storage Purchase Agreement.
