BHEL wins Power Plant Order Valued Between Rs. 1,200 to Rs. 1,500 Cr. from SAIL
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has received a Letter of Acceptance from Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) for the development of a captive power plant in West Bengal. This order has been valued between Rs. 1,200 and Rs 1,500 crore.
As per the order, BHEL will be responsible for setting up a captive power plant at SAIL’s IISCO Steel Plant in Burnpur.
Under this turnkey project, Bharat Heavy Electricals will undertake design, engineering, manufacturing, supply and commissioning of the captive power plant package for SAIL. Civil works have been excluded from the scope of work. This project is expected to be commissioned within 39 months from receiving the Letter of Acceptance.
This package is a part of SAIL’s 4.08 Million Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA) crude steel expansion project at SAIL’s IISCO Steel Plant in Burnpur, West Bengal.
