Jindal Stainless Commissions Its First Stainless Steel Fabrication Unit in Mumbai

Jindal Stainless Limited, one of India’s leading stainless Steel manufacturers, has inaugurated its first stainless steel fabrication unit at Washivali in Patalganga, Mumbai, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Jindal Stainless Steelway Limited. The company shared this information in its stock filing dated 6th October 2025.

The plant has been developed over an area of 4 lakh square feet with an investment of Rs. 125 crore.

Jindal Stainless’ newly inaugurated plant in Mumbai will cater to the needs of the bridge sector and focus on fabricating various types of girders, among other critical components. According to the company’s stock filing, the plant is expected to achieve an annual fabrication capacity of 18,000 tonne by FY27, up from 4,000 tonnes in the current financial year. The plant will also generate over 250 direct employment opportunities.

Commenting on this development, Mr. Tarun Khulbe, CEO & CFO of Jindal Stainless Limited, said, “Developing a trained fabricator ecosystem has long been a challenge in fully translating the excellence of sustainable stainless steel material into reliable, high-quality fabrications”. Further, Mr. Abhyuday Jindal, Managing Director, Jindal Stainless, added that the aforementioned Steel fabrication unit will implement end-to-end quality management at the facility, and targets to provide integrated solutions to its customers.
