BHEL- Hitachi India Consortium Wins Rs. 12,000 Cr. HVDC Order
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) – Hitachi Energy India Ltd. consortium will execute works on a High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) project for the Adani Group. Works worth Rs. 12,000 crore will be executed by the consortium. This order has been awarded by Rajasthan Part I Power Transmission Ltd., a subsidiary of Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. (AESL).
These works are a part of the Rs. 25,000 crore project secured by AESL from REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd. (RECPDCL) in December 2024.
Scope of work in this project includes design and construction of a 950 Km long High Voltage Direct Current transmission link between Bhadla, Rajasthan, and Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh. BHEL-Hitachi Energy will set up two terminal stations, one in Bhadla III and another in Fatehpur. Each of these terminal stations will have a total capacity of 6,000 MW. The consortium will also supply converter transformers, AC/DC control and protection, 765 KV/400 KV grid connections, and other auxiliary systems for the project.
This project is expected to be completed by 2030.
