Juniper Green Energy to Procure 1 GW of Solar Modules from First Solar India

Juniper Green Energy Pvt. Ltd. has signed an agreement with First Solar Power India Private Ltd. (subsidiary of US-based First Solar) to procure 1 GW of solar power modules. This information was shared by Juniper Green Energy in its press release dated 10th December 2024.

As per the agreement, First Solar Power India will be responsible for supplying its series 7 FT1 Cadmium Telluride (CdTe) thin film PhotoVoltaic (PV) modules for Juniper Green Energy’s solar project sites across Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra. These modules will be delivered over the next two years. Juniper Green Energy highlighted in its release that this order is one of the largest for domestically produced solar modules in India. These modules will be manufactured at First Solar’s plant in Chennai.

First Solar Power India’s solar modules are listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) and are compliant with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). These solar modules are designed to optimize Balance of System (BOS) costs and reduce the Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE).

Commenting on this partnership, Mr. Georges Antoun, Chief Commercial Office of First Solar, said “We are pleased that Juniper Green has selected American solar technology that is made in India, for India, to power its project portfolio”.
