Dixon Technologies’ Subsidiary Signs MoU with HP for Laptop Manufacturing

Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd.’s fully-owned subsidiary, Padget Electronics Private Ltd., has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HP India Sales Private Ltd. for the production of computers in India. Dixon Technologies shared this information in its stock filing dated 9th September 2024.

Under this agreement, Padget Electronics will manufacture notebooks, desktops, and all-in-one PCs for HP India. These products will be manufactured at Padget Electronics’ new plant, which is being established in Oragadam, Chennai. The company is expected to commence production at this plant in February 2025. Padget’s Chennai plant will sprawl over approximately 3,00,000 square feet.

Commenting on this development, Ms. Ipsita Dasgupta, Managing Director of HP India said “We are excited to announce HP’s partnership with Dixon Technologies to manufacture HP products under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme*”.

Mr. Atul B. Lall, Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Dixon Technologies (India) Limited said “We are sure that with HP’s vision and rigorous industry-leading processes, combined with our expertise in manufacturing, we will be able to bring a range of HP personal systems to Indian customers”.

*A Rs. 17,000 crore PLI scheme for IT hardware was announced by the Indian government in May 2023.
