2 GW Sharavati Pumped Storage Project to Enhance Grid Stability

Pumped Storage Project on the Sharavati river in Karnataka has been awarded to Megha Engineering and Infra. Ltd. (MEIL). This 2 GW project will be instrumental in enhancing grid stability in the state. This Rs. 8,000 crore project has been designed to feed the grid during periods of high power demand. This would result in lesser need for load shedding and therefore lesser power outages.
