TARIL’s Ongoing Capacity Expansion, Rs. 550 Cr. CapEx for Next 15 Months
Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Ltd. (TARIL), an Indian manufacturer of transformers and reactors, is in the process of expanding its production capacity. This information was shared by the company’s management during TARIL’s earnings call for its FY-25 financial results.
The company had begun transformer production capacity expansion by 15,000 Mega Volt Ampere (MVA) in April 2024, phase-1 of which is set to be commissioned by May 2025. As per Mr. Chanchal Rajora, TARIL’s CFO, phase-1 of this expansion would entail about half of the aforementioned capacity.
Apart from this, TARIL is also expanding its Extra High Voltage (EHV) transformer production by 22,000 MVA, which is set to be commissioned by February 2026. This expansion is taking place at the company’s Moraiya facility near Ahmedabad. “These projects will take our total manufacturing capacity to 75,000 MVA, enabling us to cater the rising demand from all the corners of the industry”, explained Mr. Rajora.
He also said the company will be spending Rs. 550 crores as CapEx “…to strengthen its organic as well as backward integration growth”. Out of this amount Rs. 400 crore has been earmarked to be utilised in FY-26, whereas the remaining Rs. 150 crore will be utilised during Q1 of FY-27.
He added that TARIL is targeting to grow its annual revenue to USD 1 billion in the next 3 fiscals.
