Polycab Launches UT Series 350 GW String Inverter for Utility-Scale Solar Plants
Polycab India Ltd., India’s most prominent cables and wires player, which also manufactures cable accessories, switchgear, inverters, lighting, FMCG and more, has launched its UT series 350 KW string inverter for utility-scale solar power plants.
High Efficiency, Power Output Optimisation & Loss Minimisation
Polycab’s new 3-phase string inverter has a conversion efficiency of 99.01%, and can support bifacial 180/210 mm solar modules.
15/12 MPPT for Maximising Power Harvest from Solar Arrays
Polycab’s new solar string inverter features 15/12 Maximum Point Power Tracker (MPPT). MPPT is a DC-to-DC convertor, which optimises the variable voltage output from solar panels into the most suited DC voltage for charging batteries (keeping the power same) at the power plant. 15/12 MPPT means that it can handle a current output of 15A at 12V which is then fed to batteries in order to charge them efficiently.
Reduction of PID Losses, Reactive Power Function for Increased Stability
Apart from this, Polycab’s new string inverter has an optional anti-Potential-Induced Degradation (PID) function, which can be used to prevent loss due to PID. PID happens when there is a voltage difference between the solar panel and grounded elements of the solar power plant which leads to current leakage, and hence loss. Further, this inverter also includes a reactive power function to control the flow of reactive power into or out of the grid, thereby maintaining stability.
Other Salient Features of Polycab’s UT Series 350 KW Solar Inverter
Polycab’s new UT series inverter has been designed to function in -35 degree Celsius to 60 degree Celsius ambient temperature, making it suitable for use in diverse geographies. This 124 Kg inverter has dimensions of 1,120 × 810 × 368 mm.
